			At what level of detail do people plan

	People recognize rather detailed patterns.  However, when
people plan ahead, perhaps we use very schematic repreentations of
possible future states.  In particular, it may be possible to design
a psychological experiment in which people plan situations which are
actually contradictory.  Ask a psychologist to help design the experiment.

1988 Apr 17 Why do people have such short arms compared to apes?  Did our
ancestors have longer arms, and what was the advantage in
shortening them?  A possibility is that it inhibited children
from climbing and thus reduced falls.
